Sign-in starts at 8:00 am. Lunch closes at 1pm

This bike ride will take place on Saturday morning, October 4th, beginning and ending at the Gettysburg Area Recreation Park. Three different routes are being offered to accommodate riders of all experience levels. All rides will travel through the Gettysburg National Military Park and over the picturesque Sachs Covered Bridge. The longer rides will also wind their way through the quiet roads of southern Adams County. To make this event complete, a lunch is provided after the rides.

Preregistration is available online until noon on Friday, October 3rd and costs $40. Ride-day registration is also available at a cost of $45 and opens at 8:00 a.m. A BBQ lunch is provided starting at 11 a.m. A t-shirt is included in the price of registration for those registering by 11:59 PM on Sep 14. We're celebrating our 10th anniversary, so expect a few fun additions to this year's event.

Note that this is a "rain or shine" event. Due to the requirements for permits, facility reservations, etc., we are not able to offer a rain date.

Proceeds will be used to design, develop, and maintain trails and bike routes in Adams County. HABPI is currently pursuing several trail projects including the next section of a bicycling path in Gettysburg called the Gettysburg Inner Loop as well as a 1.2-mile off-road trail along Boyds School Road that will connect to the existing North Gettysburg Trail.

Ride Options (note: route selection is for planning purposes only. You may ride whichever route you like on ride day.)

13-mile guided route ($40.00)
A leisurely paced ride of approximately 13 miles that will be guided by members of HABPI. The route takes you through a portion of the Gettysburg battlefield , across Sach's covered bridge and the John Eisenhower Bridge, and then explores some scenic farm country before winding its way back through the Borough of Gettysburg to the Rec Park. Note: This ride departs at 9:45 am.
25-mile route ($40.00)
This 25-mile route takes you through a potion of the Gettysburg battlefield and across Sachs Covered bridge and the John Eisenhower bridge. You then wind your way past farms and fields on the quiet country roads of southern Adams County. Orange arrows on the roadway will mark the course. You may start your ride anytime between 8 and 9:30 am after checking in. A rest stop is available at about half way. Ride with GPS guidance will also be available.
40-mile route ($40.00)
This 40-mile ride is intended for experienced riders. The route takes you through a portion of the battlefield and across Sachs Covered Bridge and the John Eishenhower Bridge. You then ride the backroads south of Gettysburg with a rest stop about half way through the route. The route will be marked. Ride with GPS guidance will also be available. Start between 8 am and 9 am to finish in time for lunch (which closes at 1pm).
